What is it?
We have been called bar-bike, party-bike, pedal-pub, and party-bus. The ApresBike is an all-wheel drive, human-powered, mobile party made of galvanized steel and teak. A driver is included with the experience who serves as guide and DJ.
How many people can ride?
Well that depends. Officially there are 15 seats excluding the driver’s seat. If you have small children or lots of dancers, there is room for several more behind the bar. Generally, the more the merrier–and it’s cheaper!
How many people pedal?
10. At least 8 passengers over 4’6″ are required to make an enjoyable, sweat-free experience.
Can we bring our own music?
Certainly. The sound system can sync to any device with Bluetooth. There is generally good data-service for cell-phones in Aspen, but we recommend Pandora or a playlist. Searching around on YouTube can really kill the mood 🙂
As long as we are on the streets of Aspen no open containers are permitted due to municipal code. A variety of chilled refreshments (requests accepted) are always on board along with plastic cups.
So how can we drink?
Bar crawls are perfectly legal and lots of fun. Another option is to make laps from a designated home base if anyone in the party has a house or hotel in town. Both options work well in the condensed street layout of the Aspen Core.
Where should we meet?
Anywhere within the Aspen Core works for us. Steep hills are to be avoided and are the only real limiting factor. Our preferred meeting place is Sky Hotel, because it is centrally located and a great place to hang out with a real Apres Aspen vibe.
Where do we go?
Anywhere in the Aspen core. East End, West End. We try to keep the number of times we cross Main Street to a minimum and avoid hills. That’s it. The rest is open range.
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
If it is a light rain, the party goes on. Don’t be discouraged though, the rain rarely last long here in Colorado. With heavy rain or severe weather we can certainly reschedule.
You may cancel a minimum of 7 days in advance of your booking to at no cost to you. If you cancel within 7 days,
How late can I reserve the bike?
We live in town, so we can usually accommodate last minute reservations, but we can only guarantee driver availability with 36 hours notice. It is still best to plan ahead if possible.
What does Après mean?
Après-ski (French: after skiing) refers to going out, having drinks, dancing, and generally socializing after skiing. It is popular in the Alps, where skiers often stop at bars on their last run of the day while still wearing all their ski gear. The concept is similar to the nineteenth hole in golf. This can also happen anywhere in the world where there is snow. In the United States, the term is used more broadly to describe the atmosphere of ski resorts and ski culture, ski themed architecture and decor, and the ski oriented lifestyle in general.
